Many insurance firms have coped well with the effects of the pandemic, particularly those with a well- diversified book of business, but as the fallout continues, what should their focus be?
Our head of Insurance Intermediaries, Paul Goldwin will look at the effects of the pandemic on insurance intermediary firms in 2020 and what they might expect in 2021 and beyond. In particular, he will focus on how the FCA has been monitoring ‘resilience’ in the Insurance intermediary market and especially:
- What firms should be doing to ensure operational and financial resilience
- How they should address matters if things start to go wrong – including putting in place wind down plans.
Our Head of Restructuring, Stephen Goderski will focus on what a wind-down plan looks like for an insurance intermediary. Stephen will distil the requirements of a good wind-down plan and highlight potential pitfalls to be avoided.
He will also cover restructuring and insolvency options, (including what has changed in the last twelve months), outline the latest thinking amongst restructuring professionals and explain how boards should approach severe financial difficulties.
