PKF Littlejohn has appointed James Wilkinson to lead its new Manchester office.
James joins the firm from PwC, where he has spent nearly nine years – most recently in one of the firm’s northern offices.
James is an experienced auditor, specialising in the financial services sector. He is known for acting for mutual insurers, insurance brokers and MGAs, as well as other financial services businesses such as asset and wealth managers and consumer lenders – from FTSE 100 and AIM-listed companies through to large regional operators. He has worked in the UK and Cayman Islands – as both an auditor and an in-house accountant – in a career spanning 15 years.
Expertise in AIM and Financial services
PKF Littlejohn opened its office at 11 York Street in Manchester last month. One of the fastest growing challenger brands in the accountancy sector, PKF Littlejohn is well-known for working with the financial services sector and the listed companies market, as well as with other large, complex, high-profile private businesses.
The firm is the UK’s second largest auditor of AIM-listed businesses and ranked sixth for all listed companies in the UK. It also works with over 100 insurance companies, mutuals and brokers, and is the largest auditor of insurance intermediaries in the UK. In addition, the firm provides a range of tax services to larger clients, including in complex areas such as VAT and transfer pricing.
Dominic Roberts, Managing Partner, said: “We’re excited to welcome James to PKF Littlejohn.
“James is known for being approachable and personable, which fits perfectly with our ethos and culture here. In addition, James has a sound understanding of complex technical matters, and his expertise will undoubtedly benefit our growing portfolio of Northern-based financial services audit clients.
“James will also head up the expansion of our new Manchester office, which is an important part of our strategic investment plans. We’ve seen considerable interest in our services in Manchester since we opened in May, and it’s clear that businesses in the North West are welcoming the opportunity to engage with a credible alternative to the ‘Big Four’.”
James Wilkinson added: “I’m originally from the Manchester area and went to university here, so am looking forward to coming back home. PKF Littlejohn has made a strong commitment to growing its operations in the North West, and I’m excited to be playing my part in making these plans a success.”
